Jaro Carmel has its own share of difficulties, sharing the plight of some people as well. On June 21, 2008 Typhoon Frank hit and severely affected some areas in Iloilo. A part of the monastery's wall collapsed and caused the flood to enter many areas within the enclosure. God continued to help the sisters at that time, sending volunteers and generous individuals to assist the sisters in some way. In turn the sisters, provided a temporary shelter to others who were affected as well.
