The Novitiate in Jaro Carmel is under the patronage of the Santo Nino and St. Therese. The novitiate is a place or a period of training for novices.
The purpose of the novitiate is to prepare the novice to live a vowed life. It's a time to deepen in knowledge of the order's charism and spirituality, as well as of the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience. At the end of the novitiate, with the approval of the governing body or community, the novice would profess her temporary vows.
Devotion to the Santo Nino is widespread not only in the Philippines but in other parts of the world as well. The Santo Nino has helped many not only in healing but also in conversion. May the Feast of the Santo Nino grant us bountiful blessings!
