An Advent Reflection (3rd Week)

"There is one among you whom you don't recognize, the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie."

Everything in Carmel is an opportunity to recognize the One who is to come, to save us. With the light of faith and hope, we could have been familiar with Him who will come to prove His unconditional love for mankind. This is our daily task: to uncover the Holy face of Jesus through silent prayer and contemplation. And it is truly a reason to "Rejoice in the Lord" when we realize our littleness, our unworthiness to untie His sandal strap.

The Light of Joy becomes our guiding principle in opening the door of our hearts for this great God who Himself stoops down on our level to give us His light that shines brightly each time we humble ourselves before His holy countenance. Let us make ourselves ready to embrace His presence in our journey to the Mount of Carmel.

In loving memory of our dear Sr. Pauline.
